Students
Entrance exams
The entrance exam comprises of a written test followed by personal interview and portfolio assessment.
Induction
The academic year starts in August every year. An induction program is conducted for all
new students. This program aims to familiarize students with the schedule, course structure,
rules and regulations and important contact information -- administration and faculty.
Juries
A major event in the life of DSK Supinfocom is the Jury, which is held every year for various
days, in the presence of the most important representatives in the world of animation.
This is an opportunity for students' to present their work in front of highly accomplished
professionals and get valuable feedback from them.
The jury comprises of famous and skilled national and international professionals giving
feedback on the students' graduation films.
There is a constantly growing library of books and DVDs.
Moreover, we have a "shared documents" section on the internal server with a collection of
reference material, videos and films, which are used as academic support.
We offer an open door policy for students to get guidance from faculty members.
Students are given access to labs outside the classes as per the need of the assignment. Labs are open to students
at any point in time, even on non-working days.
How do I cope with the workload?
Counselling is provided to students to boost their morale. Initially students find it difficult
to cope due to the heavy workload. But eventually the projects are motivating enough to
push students to excel. They also feel motivated as their work is showcased in front of the
jury. Besides the course is designed such that the workload actually prepares them for the
professional world.
Evaluation
Students are evaluated every trimester, where they are judged based on their outcome/
quality of work, adherence to prescribed process and deadlines, learning attitude,
attendance, punctuality and other related criteria. As part of the evaluation process, the
faculty may feel the need to meet the parents to discuss a student's performance and progress.
Report cards
Report cards are given after each trimester. The report card includes quantitative and
qualitative assessment of a student's academic performance and it also looks into skills like
timekeeping, attendance and human skills.
